So what next?

Here at project headquarters, Kate and I have been discussing various aspects of the project that particularly excite and inspire us to keep creating great photos, but also maintain the contacts that we have developed during this project:

Here are just a few ideas that we are keen to explore and are now 'putting it out there' to see who is interested....

Option A)
Forming a photography collective....No, its not another community group that needs to take minutes. We do that enough in our day jobs.... We are keen to gather a collection of lateral minded, creative photographers where we exchange ideas, showcase our work (brag), or share work of other photographers that excites us. Wine drinking and eating good food is optional but preferred. We are thinking meeting 3 to 4 times per year and it would be very casual, 2 or three hours on a Sunday arvo?

Option B)
More photography workshops. Nick is keen to run some more from his studio- small participant numbers and focused on one aspect of digital photography, and ABC Open are keen to run a workshop that is focused on combining audio and still images.
We are happy to coordinate bookings via the gmail email group.

Option C)
Photography exhibitions.
I have personally been reminded why I love photography so much, and has re-kindled my interest of night photography and industrial photography in particular.
Whilst this might not float every ones boat, there would be no reason why we could not work in small interest clusters to do an exhibition (hard copy or digital) to hang something together.
What about something like digital projections from the inside of of an empty shop over summer? There are lots of interesting ways to exhibit images that are not just pictures on a wall...

Option C)
More Street Art- Bigger, single image, edgy images that say something about where we live and why.... I'd love to make a national comment on how the national water policy will affect our community and region for instance....

Option D)
Digital projections onto the silos or somewhere else equally large and prominent- particularly over summer...

Option E)
Exploring opportunities with iphone/ipod cameras apps. In particular i have become a bit obsessed with Hipstamatic lately. I think an online Hipstamatic group could be quite cool.- You can now contribute to shared albums via hipstamatic/faceboook direct from the app.

Option F)
Finding more exhibition opportunities for the 'Day in the Life' body of work.
Albury City has a digital image gallery space, and there is also a possibility that we may do a re-mount at the Peppin during August this year because the exhibition has been so popular....

That's just a few ideas off the top of our head....

A Day in the Life- Official Launch

A huge crowd of 150 odd people turned up to launch the Day in the Life Project at the Peppin on Friday night. Opened by Lani Houston; Director of Regional Arts NSW,Chairperson of South West Arts and Executive Officer at RDA Riverina, the exhibition was very warmly received by the Deniliquin community.
Many thanks for Mark Logan and James Giddey who travelled from Orange and Wentworth respectively to attend the opening; both who were pivotal in undertaking the event in 1990 nad 2001.

We have been busy choosing the final collection of photos for the exhibition launch which has been announced for Friday 10 June 2011 - 6pm at the Peppin Heritage Centre.

Please join us to witness the large scale digital photo projections; like we have not experienced in Deniliquin before.

As part of the celebration; the official website of the project will also be launched. It features the full body of images that have now been collated and scanned
